Sony Pictures has set its release plan for Darren Aronofsky‘s eagerly anticipated, featuring Oscar nominee and hot star Austin Butler (“Elvis”).

My Oscar Book:

Set to hit theaters August 29, Caught Stealing was helmed by Aronofsky from a script by Charlie Huston, who wrote the books on which the movie is based.

The film stars Butler as Hank Thompson, a down-on-his-luck former baseball player who is suddenly immersed in the New York crime underworld in the 1990s.

Caught Stealing hails from Protozoa and also stars Zoë Kravitz, Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Matt Smith and Bad Bunny.

The series’ most recent release was 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door, which marked the directorial debut of franchise mainstay Wilson. As the fifth film in the Insidious world, The Red Door collected $189 million at the global box office.

Also, a placeholder date for an untitled Marvel movie initially slated for June 27, 2025 has been removed from Sony’s calendar.

Oscar winner Butler (“Elvis”) forthcoming projects include Ari Aster’s Eddington, which is also set to star Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal and Emma Stone. Aronofsky most recently directed the 2022 drama The Whale, which won two Oscars, including best actor for star Brendan Fraser. The latter’s competition in the category included Butler’s performance in Elvis.
