Ocean’s Prequel: Bradley Cooper to Write, Direct and Star in Margot Robbie’s Production

Bradley Cooper Will Write, Direct and Star in Margot Robbie’s ‘Ocean’s’ Prequel

Warner Bros. also revealed the released dates of an untitled Baz Luhrmann feature and Zach Cregger’s The Flood as part of its CinemaCon presentation.

Bradley Cooper is at the helm of the upcoming Ocean’s prequel, in which he will also star alongside Margot Robbie.

During Warner Bros.’ CinemaCon resentation on Tuesday, studio heads Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy confirmed the news.

The film does not yet have a title, but has been dated for June 25, 2027.

Cooper — who most recently directed Is This Thing On? (a film that did not do well) will also produce alongside Robbie’s LuckyChap banner.

Robbie also made a virtual appearance in the presentation, telling the Las Vegas room, “Before Danny Ocean ever stepped foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows: his parents. You’ll see them in all their prime in our new movie, pulling off an epic heist at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.”

Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides in Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ action adventure Dune: Part Three

Warner Bros. released the release dates of the horror sequel The Revenge of La Llorona (April 9, 2027); Evil Dead Wrath (April 7, 2028); Final Destination 7 (May 12, 2028); Zach Cregger’s The Flood (Aug. 11, 2028); Weapons prequel Gladys (Sept. 8, 2028) and untitled Baz Luhrmann film (Nov. 22, 2028).

The studio revealed that a Game of Thrones prequel movie is going forward. Warner Bros. Discovery was developing both a TV show and a movie based on Aegon’s Conquest, and it seems the latter has won out, with the feature Aegon’s Conquest teased during the panel.

Lee Isaac Chung had previously been attached to Ocean’s prequel but departed last month due to creative differences. A joint statement released at the time read, “Lee Isaac is a singular filmmaking talent whose vision and partnership have been invaluable to Warner Bros. and LuckyChap throughout this journey. Our experience with him has only deepened our enthusiasm to collaborate on future projects together.”

In 2018, Warner Bros. released Ocean’s Eight, director Gary Ross’ spinoff of Soderbergh’s trilogy that starred Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway.
