0 Movie Stars: Image Creation

Joan Crawford said: “Le me explain something about people raised in films. We learned a lot from acting. I learned to read by reading scripts.  I learned to react–learned strength and humor–from the parts I played. I would rehearse lines I had in a picture and use them for myself, let them become part of me.” (Lynn).

Crawford: The trick is not to lose your identity. To draw on the characters when you need them:the charm, humor, strength, this and that.  We didn’t knw it, but we grew through the years, platng characters.

Gabe took the humor and sex from the characters that he played. They all did it, but not so consciously as Crawford and Gable.
