The 83rd annual GG show reached rather small audience–an average of onl 8.7 million viewers– on Sunday night, which marked the ceremony third year in a row of airing on CBS.

Measured by Nielsen, that total represents 6% drop from the 9.3 million viewers of the 2025 ceremony, which itself marked 2% decrease from the 2024 ceremony.

Airing at 5 p.m., this year’s live GG ceremony benefitted from lead-in viewership from the NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars that aired on CBS.

But the ceremony also competed directly with NBC’s telecast of the NFL wild card game that saw the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Chargers to secure a playoff berth.

Nikki Glaser hosted the Globes for the second year in a row and was once again positively received.  Variety critic wrote that “Glaser continued to confidently strut the thin and delicate line between landing punches while seeming infectiously excited to be in the Beverly Hilton ballroom.

Glaser’s opening monologue generated 14 million views across social media platforms after 36 hours.
On the GG YouTube page as of Tuesday evening the 11-minute monologue was up to only 3.7 million views.

Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner of White Cherry Entertainment served as showrunners and executive producers of the GG.
