Blade Runner 2099: Limited Series, Starring Oscar Winner Michelle Yeoh

Prime Video has released the first trailer for Blade Runner 2099, the return of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi franchise 9 years after “Blade Runner 2049.”

My Oscar Book:

Starring Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) and Euphoria breakout star Hunter Schafer as its leads, “Blade Runner 2099” is a limited series set after the events of both the original “Blade Runner” and the “2049” sequel.

Denis Villeneuve’s “2049” continued Scott’s story with original star Harrison Ford back as Rick Deckard and Ryan Gosling as the replicant blade runner named K.

In the trailer, Olwen and Cora team up in the war between replicants and humans. As the cinematic comes to a close, Olwen tells Cora, “The old world forever fights to come back. Humans want what was taken from them. But it’s our time now.”
Recurring guest star roles include Katelyn Rose Downey (“The Nun II”), Daniel Rigby (“Renegade Nell”), Johnny Harris (“A Gentleman In Moscow”), Amy Lennox (“Only Child”), Sheila Atim (“The Woman King”) and Matthew Needham (“House of the Dragon”).

“Blade Runner 2099” was shot in Czech Republic at Prague, with additional production in Barcelona.

Ridley Scott, who directed the original Blade Runner, will exec produce along with David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger of Scott Free Productions.

Jonathan van Tulleken, known for helming two episodes of “Shogun” and “Dope Thief,” is set to direct the first two episodes.

Blade Runner 2099 will premiere on Prime Video on November 25. Watch the trailer below.
