Oscar Actors: Brody, Adrien–Longest Acceptance Speech in History, 5:40 Minutes

During his best actor acceptance speech, the Brutalist star thanked his partner, Georgina Chapman, and the two children she shares with Weinstein: “Thank you for accepting me into your life.”

Harvey Weinstein is reacting to Adrien Brody mentioning the children he shares with his ex-wife during his best actor acceptance speech at the 2025 Oscars on Sunday.

During Brody’s acceptance speech, the Brutalist star thanked his partner Georgina Chapman — the two were first linked in 2019 — and the two children she shares with Weinstein.

Chapman and Weinstein were married for 13 years until their divorce in 2021 amid sexual allegations brought against Weinstein.

“I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth, but my sense of value and my values,” Brody said during his speech.

“And her beautiful children, Dash and India, I know this has been rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life, and Poppy’s coming home a winner!”

“Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his kids are being loved and cared for as they deserve to be,” Weinstein’s representative said.

Weinstein is awaiting retrial of his 2020 rape conviction, which was overturned in April, and is set to include new sexual assault charge in New York. “I’m asking and begging your honor to move your trial,” Weinstein said. “I can’t hold on anymore. I’m holding on because I want justice for myself.”

Weinstein was diagnosed with leukemia, in addition to other ailments, and has been hospitalized multiple times.

After filing for divorce, Chapman was granted custody of her and Weinstein’s kids. She and Brody made their public debut at the Tribeca Film Fest in June 2021.

Brody Oscar Records

During Sunday night’s show, Brody won his second Oscar for his role in The Brutalist. The win comes two decades after Brody won for the Holocaust drama The Pianist in 2003, which at the time made him the youngest best actor Oscar winner of all time at 29.

Per the Guinness World Records, Brody‘s acceptance speech is now the longest in Oscars history after he ignored the 45-second timer and spoke for five minutes and 40 seconds.
