My Oscar Book:
He also directed the $100M+ sci-fi feature White Noise starring Gerwig and Adam Driver, which was based on the Don DeLillo novel. It’s the first time that Baumbach directed from a story not based on his own. It won’t be a surprise if Jay Kelly winds up at the fall film festivals: Marriage Story world premiered at Telluride in 2019 while White Noise debuted at the Venice Film Festival in 2022.
