Lizabeth Scott, a frequent woman of film noir, defined by deep, husky voice, and striking, if not conventionally beautiful face.

She was paired with Bogart in Dead Reckoning (1947), and  though she faced frequent comparisons to Bacall and other femme fatales, she stood apart and eventually got the starring role in Too Late for Tears (1949).

Scott excelled in playing misunderstood women, or cold-blooded killers, with many investigations leading back to her characters.
