Rob Reiner is the director of "Flipped," an adaptation of the children's novel. The film, which stars Madeline Carroll and Callan McAuliffe, is being released by Warner Bros. on August 6.

Reiner credits his son, Nick, for bringing the story of "Flipped" to his attention. It was a book Nick was given at school, and which father and son read in tandem on a family trip. "As I was reading it, I thought, 'This is a beautiful piece of writing. It's a great story, true to life, funny, intelligent and really touching,'" Reiner recalls. 

Legendary Chinese director Zhang Yimou made “A Woman, a Gun, and a Noodle Shop,”adaptation of Coen Brothers stunning film debut, “Blood Simple.”

Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger," which stars Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts, and Anthony Hopkins, will be released by Sony Classics September 22.

Considering the bleakness of his vision, why does Allen continue to make films?  “It’s a distraction that has its own little challenges and consequently keeps my mind off morbid thoughts.” 

Brad Peyton is the director of "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore," the sequel to the 2001 hit "Cats & Dogs." The film, which is being released by Warner Bros., comes out July 30 in 3D.

"Once people bond with their pets and get to know their personalities, it's easy to imagine them doing things when we're not around," Peyton suggests. "This movie is just an extension of that idea–that animals have their own secret lives."

Zac Efron stars in "Charlie St. Cloud," directed by Burr Steers, and also starring Amanda Crew, Ray Liotta, and Kim Basinger. The film is being released by Universal on July 30.
