Tamara Drewe: Interview with director Stephen Frears

Stephen Frears (High Fidelity, The Queen) is the director of "Tamara Drewe," starring Gemma Arterton. The film, which is an adaptation of the famous Tamara Drewe character as well as a graphic novel, is being released October 8 by Sony Pictures Classics.

“The script makes me laugh, it’s very, very funny, and very sexy and a very contemporary, modern film. And doing an adaptation of a comic strip is terribly liberating. You can sort of do anything; it frees you up in the most wonderful way. Comic strips are normally Superman, or about superheroes, but this is a comic strip which is also intelligent and about things you recognise. I’ve never made a film like this; I had to completely rethink how I do things," says Frears.

Last Exorcism: Interview Director Daniel Stamm

Daniel Stamm is the director of "The Last Exorcism," starring Patrick Fabian and Ashley Bell. The film, which is being released by Lionsgate, comes out August 27.

“Throughout the film the question is: Is it supernatural or is it human evil? Is Nell schizophrenic or is she possessed?” says director Daniel Stamm. “That to me is the interesting question. The film is about faith, the role faith plays in your life and what that does to you – how it can help you, and how it can destroy you.”

Spring Fever: Interview with Lou Ye

Is it difficult to be a homosexual in China? How do people react to homosexuality?

Personally, I don't think I'm the best person to answer that. I think that, as with many things, it is not easy. But the situation is much better today than it was a century ago. For example, in the Chinese Mental Health Regulations, dated 2001, homosexuality was still qualified as mental disorder. But, in 2005, there was a real dialogue between the Vice Minister of Health and homosexual associations in the fight against AIDS. It's a huge step forward, even if a number of problems remain to be resolved.

Eat Pray Love: Interview with Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts stars in Ryan Murphy's "Eat Pray Love," the feature film adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir of the same name. The film, which also stars Javier Bardem, James Franco and Viola Davis, is being released by Columbia Pictures on August 13.

“Everybody has a journey, a moment in their lives when they need to redefine who they are and what they’re looking for. Liz’s journey is very specific and very visual, in a way that’s very appealing as a story, but it’s also a universal story that can apply to anybody–Julia Roberts
