For Colored Girls: Interview with director Tyler Perry

"For Colored Girls," the adaptation of Ntozake Shange's play, is directed by Tyler Perry. The film, which stars Janet Jackson, Thandie Newton, and Whoopie Goldberg is being released by Lionsgate on November 5.

“This is my tenth film, and it took me nine to feel ready to tackle something like this,” he acknowledges.  “I was nervous because it’s such a powerful, iconic piece and there are so many people who live, eat, breathe and die ‘Colored Girls.’  I had to be sure I could get it right.”

Stone: Interview with actor Edward Norton

Edward Norton stars in "Stone," directed by John Curran. The film, which also stars Robert De Niro and actress-turned-model Milla Jovovich, was released by Overture Films on October 8.

“We always felt that Stone should come from the margins,” says Norton. “He has never had even rudimentary training in how to be a stable person or any kind of guidance into spiritual life. He is a person who has fallen through the cracks and he’s as far from someone who’s likely to have a profound spiritual transformation as anyone you’ll ever encounter."

Stone: Interview with director John Curran

John Curran is the director of "Stone," starring Robert De Niro and Edward Norton. The film, which also stars actress-turned-model Milla Jovovich, was released by Overture Films on October 8.

Curran was intrigued by the script’s premise. “The opening scene hooked me,” he says. “It’s a sequence of seemingly benign scenes that are clearly building to something either terrifying or profound. When it came, it was nothing I was prepared for—and that was only page ten. In a larger sense, I was drawn to Jack, a small-town, conservative, religious man on the verge of retirement who begins to question his faith and is soon quietly unraveling. I grew up around men like Jack.”

Due Date: Interview with star Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. stars in Todd Phillips' "Due Date," which Warner will release November 5.

"I start every day thinking here's what will happen if you do it by the book and here's what can happen if you bend yourself over backwards and forwards again and try to invite the unimagined into the situation. The set had energy like a living being; it was evolving all the time. And what's great and so funny about Todd is that sometimes, with him, it's so wrong, it's right."

Danny Boyle is the director of "127 Hours," the true story of a man who was forced to cut his own arm of after a tragic climbing accident. The film, which stars James Franco, is being released by Fox Searchlight on November 5.

“I knew I wanted to bring the audience into the canyon with Aron and to not let them go until he himself is released,” the director explains.  “Of course, I saw this as an extraordinary story of outdoor survival, but I also think there is a whole other layer to this story that will be surprising for people."
