Directed by Nouchka van Brakel, A Woman Like Eve is a Dutch drama about a woman who leaves her husband for another woman, and the child custody battle that ensues.
Monique van de Ven stars as Eve, with Peter Faber as her husband Ad and Maria Schneider as Liliane, Eve’s lover.
The film had festival showings at FILMEX: Los Angeles International Film Exposition (1980); San Francisco Gay Film Festival (1981), and Gay & Lesbian Media Coalition’s “Out on the Screen” Festival (1992).
A Woman Like Eve was the Dutch entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, but it was not among the five nominees.
