Universal’s low-budget horror film “Unfriended,” which opened April 17, 2015, is logging in with $16.5 million this weekend. The movie cost not much more than $1 million to produce.
“Unfriended” tells the story of six teenagers who are terrorized by an anonymous person online.
The project hails from micro-budget mastermind Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions. It was directed by Levan Gabriadze and was produced by Jason Timur Bekmambetov and writer Nelson Greaves.
