Bob Fosse’s final film, Star 80, followed the real-life rise of Playboy model Dorothy Stratten, portrayed by Mariel Hemingway, and brutal murder by her husband, played by Eric Roberts.
A grim departure from Fosse’s typical fare, the movie faced criticism and lawsuits from many of the people portrayed onscreen, including Hugh Hefner and Peter Bogdanovich.
Nonetheless, it remains an interesting portrait of a tragedy in the world of nude modeling.
