Many actors have played (or voiced) the iconic role of Santa Claus in Hollywood movies, from Tim Allen to Billy Bob Thornton to Kurt Russell.

In the 1994 family comedy, Allen plays a divorcee who accidentally kills a Santa impersonator on Christmas Eve. He is then transported to the North Pole to take over Santa’s duties.
At first, he is skeptical that the whole stint is just a wild dream, but gradually he begins to believe it–after he suddenly gains weight and grows a thick white beard.
The film spawned two sequels: The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006).
