The gang chit-chats in the diner for 7-minute about the meaning of Madonna’s song “Like A Virgin” has little to do with the heist that follows and its disastrous aftermath.

But the dialogue is witty, the characterization sharp, and the actions prove consequential in the telling of what occurs later in the film.

Tarantino’s acting is rather weak, compared with that of the others, and occasionally the banter too vulgar, but it keeps us in a state of suspenseful anticipation.
