Michael Douglas, Christoph Waltz to Star in ‘Reagan & Gorbachev’

James Foley (House of Cards, Fifty Shades Freed) is set to direct, with writer B. Garida adapting Adelman’s book.
The limited series will dramatize President Reagan’s and Soviet leader Gorbachev’s 1986 meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland. The two-day summit was meant to be a precursor to future talks but ended up setting the stage for a comprehensive arms control agreement the following year.
Douglas currently stars in The Kominsky Method at Netflix, which is entering its third and final season. He’s also set to reprise his role as Hank Pym in Marvel’s third Ant-Man movie. He’s repped by UTA.
Waltz starred in Quibi’s drama Most Dangerous Game earlier this year and will next be seen in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and James Bond movie No Time to Die. He’s repped by ICM Partners. Foley is repped by UTA and attorney Alan Wertheimer.
The two stars will executive produce Reagan & Gorbachev along with Foley and Youtchi Von Lintel.
