Politics 2024: Oscar Winner Spielberg Is Advising

Spielberg is advising the President’s campaign on how to best convey his vision for a second term.

The filmmaker has long supported President Biden, and Spielberg’s friend and former DreamWorks business partner Jeffrey Katzenberg is now chair of the Biden campaign.

In the past several months, Spielberg has attended multiple strategy sessions, offering his insights on how best to tell the President’s story and highlight Biden’s second term vision at this summer’s convention as he gears up for a November rematch with former President Donald Trump.

Puck also reported that Spielberg helped with the 2020 convention, held virtually at the height of COVID-19. The director does not currently have plans to create a film portion for this summer’s events, though he did produce a film for President Obama’s campaign in 2008.

In December, Spielberg was among the A-listers at a Biden fundraising event in Los Angeles hosted by interior designer Michael Smith. Biden left with an additional $15 million in his campaign funds.

Spielberg was last in theaters with 2022’s The Fabelmans, which was nominated for 7 Oscars.
