The star recently revealed to People magazine that one of her “dreams” is to host the popular NBC sketch comedy series, now in its 49th season.

“That’s been probably a dream that I’ve held on my own,” Gladstone (who uses both she/they pronouns) said. “It’s like my parents — and I think it’s just what people say when you have an aspiration to act, and they want to encourage you as a kid — it’s like, ‘Oh, you’ll get an Oscar one day.’ So it almost just becomes a platitude. But the thing that I’ve always wanted to do if I’ve had this moment is to host SNL.”

The actress is making history this awards season for her role as Mollie Burkhart, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Gladstone (Blackfeet/Nimiipuu) became the first Native American actor to be Oscar nominated with her best actress nod.

Most recently, she also became the first Indigenous actor to win best female actor in a leading role at the 2024 SAG Awards.

Gladstone has also used every opportunity she could, between acceptance speeches and interviews, to educate and advocate for Native representation on the big and small screens.
