Oscar Actors: Day-Lewis, Daniel–Record Breaker

Feb 24, 2013–British actor Daniel Day-Lewis broke Academy records to tonite by becoming the first male to have won three Oscar in the leas category: Best Actor.

Day-Lewis is also the first actor ever who had played Lincoln, our 16th president, to have won the Oscar for embodying an American president, though several had been nominated, both in the lead and supporting categories.

Jack Nicholson also has three Oscars, but only two in the Best Actor league; the third is as Supporting Actor for “Terms of Endearmeant,”in 1983.
