One Way Or Another, the Cuban film, directed and co-scripted by Sara Gomez Yara, concerns Humberto, a worker who is being tried by his mates for being absent from his job for dubious reasons. The movie tells a fascinating narrative of change, economic as well as psychological, in the context of Castro's political regime.
To illustrate the process of gentrificantion and its dramatic effects, Gomez intercuts documentary shots of the physical transformation of the neighborhood, from slums to neat high-rise apartments.
