Mitchells vs the Machines (Netflix)
Mike Rianda’s original family comedy The Mitchell vs the Machines is a frontrunner to land an animated feature Oscar nomination after winning that category at the New York Film Critics Circle.
It also earned best animated feature nominations from the Annie Awards and the Critics Choice Awards (CCA).
The film is produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who were behind the superhero favorite Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
In “Mitchells vs the Machines,” a family on a college road trip must go to battle against a robo-apocalypse.
Director Michael Rianda and writing partner Jeff Rowe have based the characters on their own families.
