Meet the People (1944): Musical Comedy, Starring Lucille Ball and Dick Powell

MGM black and white musical comedy, Meet the People, was set during World War II.

It stars Lucille Ball and Dick Powell, and features Virginia O’Brien, Bert Lahr, Rags Ragland and June Allyson.

The film takes its title from a successful Los Angeles musical revue, which ran on Broadway for five months, beginning December 25, 1940.

Vaughn Monroe and his orchestra, Spike Jones and his City Slickers, and Virginia O’Brien, who sings the hit song “Say We’re Sweethearts Again,” were also in the original stage cast.
