‘Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger’: Narrated by Scorsese
Emmy winner David Hinton’s documentary delves into the filmmaking duo’s creative paths and body of work (Black Narcissus, The Red Shoes)

Tracing his all-around movie obsession to his first viewing of the British 1948 masterpiece, The Red Shoes, Scorsese leads viewers through their features and a few of Powell’s solo efforts, while connecting key sequences to memorable scenes in his own work.
The film puts a spotlight on Brit filmmakers Powell and Pressburger who created some of the most revered films of the British golden age, including The Red Shoes, Black Narcissus, A Matter of Life and Death and The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp.

In 1984, Powell married Scorsese’s longtime editor, multiple Oscar winner Thelma Schoonmaker (Raging Bull), who also is credited as exec producer.
Ahead of its world premiere at the Berlin Film Fest, Cohen Media Group (CMG) has secured all American distribution rights to Made In England.
