The opening of this film is a monologue by Nicholas Cage, standing in a street full of bullets.
He says “there are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That’s one firearm for every 12 people on the planet. The only question is, how do we arm the other 11?”
Lord of War is a film about an arms dealer, opening with the “life of a bullet” and ending in an African child’s head makes a clear statement.
More of a monologue than a scene it’s visceral, and the shot from within the barrel of a rifle is awesomely gripping
