Lewis D. Collins directed The Lonhorn, a tautly helmed black-and-white Western, starring Wild Bill Elliott, Myron Healey and Phyllis Coates.

Elliott plays a Wyoming rancher, who heads to Oregon, aiming to cross-breed his Texas Longhorns with Hereford Cattle.

It was shot at the Iverson Ranch.

The film was remade in 1956 under the title Canyon River.
