Into the Storm: Disaster Movie a la Twister, Only Worse

Directed by Steven Quale, and written by John Swetnam, Into the Storm relies on the all too familiar device of found footage tale.

Starring Richard Armitage and Sarah Wayne Callies, the meteorological disaster concerns a rash of tornadoes striking the fictional town of Silverton, Oklahoma.

Released by Warner on August 8, 2014, the movie was greeted with mixed-to-negative reviews from critics.

“Into the Storm came in third with $6.5 million, heading to a mediocre $18 million debut.

The movie, which cost an economical $50 million to produce, comes 20 years after WB’s surprise summer hit Twister, which was superior in every respect.
