Impardonnables: Techine’s Adaptation of Philippe Djian Novel, Starring Andre Dussolier and Carole Bouquet

Vet French director Andre Techine (“Strayed,” “The Witnesses”) presented his nw film, Impardonnables, an adaptation of a Philippe Djian novel that stars Andre Dussolier and Carole Bouquet, at the 20111 Fortnight Directors of the Cannes Film Fest.

The Gallic helmer, who’s made more than 20 films since the late 1960s, is the exception that seems to confirm the rule.

Eight first-timers duking it out in the series with directors who, for the most part, have made not more than a handful of films.
