How to Dance in Ohio: Sundance Docu

HBO Documentary Films has acquired U.S. television rights to “How to Dance in Ohio” ahead of its world premiere next week at the Sundance Film Festival.

The film follows a group of teenagers with autism as they prepare for a spring formal dance at a local disco.

The film is directed by Alexandra Shiva (“Stagedoor,” “Bombay Eunuch”), and micro-budget horror kingpin Jason Blum of Blumhouse is executive producer.

It bows Sunday, January 25, in Park City, Utah, as part of the documentary competition. “How to Dance in Ohio” will air on HBO later this year.

The deal was negotiated by Andrew Herwitz, president of the Film Sales Company, on behalf of the filmmakers with HBO.
