Peter Nicks’ Homeroom offers an interesting¬† and relevant chronicle of struggle and disruption in Oakland public school system.

The class of 2020 is the COVID Class, and so the crucial event, the prom, will not happen.

Moreover, the graduation will be virtual, and the production of In the Heights, set to open on March 20, will not take place.

Homeroom provides a portrait of resilient youth in crisis mode, and so may serve as inspiration.
