Zoltan Korda directed Forget Me Not, a British musical drama, starring Beniamino Gigli, Joan Gardner and Ivan Brandt.
It was a remake of a 1935 German film of the same title.
While travelling with her employer on an ocean liner, a secretary Helen Carleton meets and falls in love with a crew member. However, on arriving in New York his catty ex-girlfriend convinces her that he doesn’t really love her. On the rebound she meets Italian opera singer Enzo Curti and accepts his offer of marriage.
A year later she arrives with Enzo and his young son in London as part of a world tour and meets her former lover who appeals to her to go off with him.
The film was not generally well received by critics, although they praised Gigli’s singing.
