Freddy’s’ Leads Slow Weekend, ‘Priscilla’ Opens Nationwide
This was expected to be big weekend for moviegoing before Dune: Part Two fled to 2024 because of ongoing actors strike.

Blumhouse’s horror hit Five Nights at Freddy’s is leading a slow frame at the domestic box office amid ongoing strike.
Dune: Part Two–Delayed
Originally, Denis Villeneuve’s high-profile tentpole Dune: Part Two was set to open this weekend, but the movie fled to 2024 because of the prohibition on its stars — including Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet — doing any promotion.
Domestic ticket sales are expected to come in at $58 million for the frame, one of the lowest showings of the year so far.

AMC Theatres’ Taylor Swift: Eras Tour is holding at No. 2 with a projected $11 million to $12 million as the $15 million concert pic approaches the $165 million mark domestically.
Scorsese’s Oscar contender Killers of the Flower Moon, from Apple Original Films, is headed for third-place finish with a projected $6.5 million for a domestic total of $52 million through its third weekend. Paramount is distributing Killers on behalf of Apple, which fully financed and marketed the $200 million epic starring DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone and De Niro.
Awards contender Priscilla:
A24 expands the movie nationwide after a promising start at the specialty box office. Starring Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley, the movie chronicles the years Presley spent with Elvis Presley, who is played by Jacob Elordi.
The female-driven Priscilla is expected to gross around $5 million this weekend, in No. 4 and ahead expectations.
Mexican comedy-drama Radical, starring and produced by Eugenio Derbez, looks to round out the top five in North America with an estimated opening of $2.9 million.
