Felix and Meira: Romance of Hasidic Jewish Wife and Secular Loner

Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired U.S. rights to Canadian romance “Felix and Meira” following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film, directed by Maxime Giroux, is centered on a Hasidic Jewish wife and mother and a secular loner mourning the recent death of his estranged father. They unexpectedly meet in a local bakery in Montreal, starting an innocent friendship that becomes more serious.

The film is set against the backdrops of Montreal, Brooklyn, and Venice, Italy.

Oscilloscope plans to release the film theatrically in 2015.

“Felix and Meira” was produced by Sylvain Corbeil and Nancy Grant from Metafilms. Eric Schnedecker of Urban Distribution International negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers.
