FIPRESCI Prize for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year
Félicité (Senegal), directed by Alain Gomis.
Franco-Senegalese filmmaker Alain Gomis’s Berlin festival prizewinner places the viewers in the sights and sounds of Kinshasa, while loosely chronicling the day-to-day travails of a single-mom and nightclub-chanteuse, Felicite (Congolese singer Véro Tshanda Beya).
The film is on the shortlist of nine picture vying for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar Award.
