Evil Dead II (1987)
Evil Dead II may be too similar in content and other ways to the first film.
And yet, what makes its crucial difference is the decisive ways in which director Sam Raimi makes this his own gory movie, both scary and funny.
Ash’s second trip to the cabin in the woods suggests that he’ll be dead by dawn and that his companions will be decimated.
Great scene: Ash gets his famous chainsaw hand and inaugurates it with the blood of a few white-eyed banshees.
