Everyday: Poverty Tale Directed by Michael Winterbottom

Everyday, Michael Winterbottom’s family drama is dreary and depressing, but it’s worth watching for both its timely subject matter and the process in which it was made.

Shot in two-week intervals over a period of five years, Winterbottom and his crew chronicle the strains on a cuple relationship due to the fact that the husband (John Smith) is in jail and the wife (Shirley Henderson) struggles alone to raise their four children.

You wonder how Ken Loach would have approched the same theme.
