British Actor Aubrey Morris, known for his role as Deltoid in Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange died on July 15, 2015, age 89.
The character actor had a memorable scene in “A Clockwork Orange” in which his probation officer cautions Alex (Malcolm McDowell) about getting into trouble. “I’m warning you, little Alex, being a good friend to you as always, the one man in this sore and sick community who wants to save you from yourself,” Morris says.
Other movie credits include Robin Hardy’s horror film “The Wicker Man,” the musical “Lisztomania,” Woody Allen’s comedy “Love and Death” and the dramedy “My Girl 2,” with Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis.
His five-decade long career also included TV work. He made his first TV appearance in the BBC adaptation of “Fly Away Peter” in 1948, after he had appeared in the West End version. His other smallscreen roles include “The Saint,” “The Sweeney,” “The Prisoner” and “The Avengers,” as well as the U.S. shows “Deadwood” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” in which he made his last appearance.
His made his stage debut in “The Winter’s Tale” at London’s Regent’s Park in 1944. spent two years at the Old Vic (1954-56) and had roles on Broadway.
