Movies Better than the Books (A to Z)
Books and movies can transport us to different worlds, times, and experiences through the power of storytelling.
Most American film are based on previously published literary sources, be they novels, ninfiction books, theatrical plays, and short stories.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) jas always distinguished between screenplays that are original, written directed for the sceen, and those that are adapted, screen versions of other literary sources,
The two mediums are, of course, vastly different, based on their inherent qualites and distinctve elements. And yet, students and readers have often asked me the same question: Is the movie beter or worse than the novel that had inspired it?
It’s a tough issue, and the answere is often subjective, depending on expectations, taste, etc,
Also crucial is the time factor of when exactly we have read the book upon which the movie is based. Did we read the book first and then saw the movie, or we first saw the movie and then, out of curiosity, decided to check out the literary source.
After talking to colleagues, we have assembled a partial list of 25 popular movies (there are more) that are better, mor enjoyable, and more satisfying than the books.
