Oscar nominated Kristen Stewart makes her feature directorial debut, The Chronology of Water, a deeply personal passion project, which she also co-wrote.
The acclaimed actress, a regular on Cannes Fest red carpet, has been working on Chronology for more than five years.
Based on Lidia Yuknavitch’s 2011 bestselling memoir, the film stars Imogen Poots as the author at various points in her life, as the story “drifts in the water of Lidia’s memories.”
“The Chronology of Water offers in-depth exploration of sexuality, of creativity, an unflinching stare at all the gory details of having a female body and a sensitive depiction of the emotional vocabulary of youth,” reads a synopsis.
The supporting cast includes Thora Birch, Earl Cave, Michael Epp, Susannah Flood, Kim Gordon and Jim Belushi.
