Anselm
Special Screenings
Wim Wenders’ latest 3D documentary, Anselm, offers a fascinating chronicle of German painter-sculptor Anselm Kiefer’s deeply tactile, maximalist oeuvre.
As in his previous documentary, Pina, Wenders’ luminous 2011 tribute to the late dancer-choreographer Pina Bausch, the director makes the best possible case for art house theaters to keep their 3D projection up to date.
The movie is enriched by the use of the 3D format, which, in this case, seems more integral and integrated into the specific nature of the project.
