Gabriel Abrantes and Daniel Schmidt’s Diamantino, last year’s Work-in-Progress section at Les Arcs Film Festival, follows an imaginary Portuguese soccer star–a character inspired by real-life player Ronaldo–who becomes exploited by many people, including nationalistic party eager to use him as its mascot.
