The Beguiled, the Civil War drama written and directed by Sofia Coppola, is based on the novel by Thomas P. Cullinan (published as “A Painted Devil”).

The budget is estimated to be around $10 million.
It has been selected to compete for the Palme d’Or in the main competition at the 2017 Cannes Film Fest.
It is scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017, by Focus Features.
