Buck and the Preacher (1972)
Post-Civil War, Buck (Sidney Poitier), a soldier turned trail guide, is helping former slaves settle in the West.
At one point, a con artist, Preacher (Harry Belafonte), joins the group and clashes with Buck. But the two must learn to put their differences aside when a group of bounty hunters, led by Deshay (Cameron Mitchell), tries to bring the freed slaves back to Louisiana.
The film is directed by Sidney Poitier and Joseph Sargent.
