The comedy The Bronze, the opening-night title at the Park City film festival in January, will open on July 31 in a wide release, distributor Relativity announced on Friday. The film will have a limited release on July 10.
The Bronze revolves around a former Olympic gymnast portrayed by Melissa Rauch, with a cast featuring Gary Cole and Thomas Middleditch.
U.S. rights were acquired by Relativity for a figure in the range of $3 million. International rights went to Sony.
With a wide release on July 31, the title is counter-programming against Paramount tentpole Mission Impossible 5, which recently vacated its Christmas release plan to avoid showdown with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
