Bring Your Smile Along (1955): Blake Edwards Directing Debut, Musical Comedy Starring Frankie Laine

After years of writing and directing for TV, Blake Edwards helmed for the big screen Bring Your Smile Along, a Technicolor musical comedy.

It was Edwards’ directorial debut as well as screen debut of actress Constance Towers.

Edwards wrote the script for this Frankie Laine musical with his mentor, director Richard Quine. The songs included Laine’s 1951 hit “The Gandy Dancers’ Ball.”
