Remake Sets 2027 Release

Lionsgate, which is backing the reboot of the supernatural thriller, has slated the movie for September 24, 2027.
Plot details have not been revealed, but Lionsgate chair Adam Fogelson has referred to the film as a “new vision” that will “reintroduce this horror classic for a new generation.
Producers of the remake include the 1999 film’s creators Eduardo Sánchez, Daniel Myrick, and Gregg Hale, as well as original film cast members Joshua Leonard and Michael C. Williams.
They will be joined by Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Steven Schneider.
Blumhouse-Atomic Monster founders Jason Blum and James Wan will serve as producers with Roy Lee, Adam Hendricks, and Greg Gilreath.
Blair Witch Project spawned a 2000 sequel “Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2,” which wasn’t the same success as the original, as well as a 2016 remake “Blair Witch,” from director Adam Wingard.
Lionsgate operates a Blair Witch-themed Escape room in Las Vegas that’s called Escape Blair Witch.
