Clint Eastwood’s highly anticipated “American Sniper,” starring Bradley Cooper, world-premieres at the AFI Fest on Tuesday night at the Egyptian Theatre.
The showing will be the first public screening for “American Sniper,” which opens Christmas Day through Warner.
“Clint Eastwood is an American icon,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI President and CEO. “His are stories that stand the test of time, and we are proud and honored to unveil his latest masterpiece.”
Cooper stars as Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history with the nickname “Legend” and 160 confirmed kills. Upon returning to his wife and kids after four tours of duty in Iraq, he finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.
Kyle was a murdered at a shooting range in Texas last year.
