A Good Year: Russell Crowe’s Film Gets Poor Reviews, Box-Office Failure

Russell Crowe’s A Good Year: Failure

Russell Crowe star vehicle A Good Year went sour, roughed up by poor notices, and bad publicity for Crowe’s offscreen antics, which have turned off some of his fans, particularly females.

In contrast, Crowe’s last picture, Cinderella Man, opened at more than $18 million for Universal last year.

“A Good Year” drew viewers that were 88% over the age of 25, according to Fox execs, and 53% over 50. That’s the kinds of demographic groups that read and rely on reviews.
