Sing Sing, which A24 acquired after it debuted at last year’s Toronto Film Fest, is out in theaters this summer.
The film focuses on a Sing Sing prison inmate named Divine G (Best Actor Oscar nominee Colman Domingo), who is incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit.

He finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men, including a wary newcomer (Clarence Maclin).
A24 describes the film as a stirring true story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art.
The cast is populated with “an unforgettable ensemble cast of formerly incarcerated actors.”
Domingo co-stars with Best Supporting Actor nominee Paul Raci.
Reviews for the film out of Toronto were strong, with Domingo hailed as a highlight and serious contender for the 2024 Best Actor Oscar.
Sing Sing is directed by Greg Kwedar, who co-wrote the screenplay with Clint Bentley (“Jockey”).
