Casablanca boasted a truly glorious international cast, headed by American Bogart, Swedish-born Ingrid Bergman, German Peter Lorre.
The enormous success of the movie, which won the Best Picture Oscar (among other kudos). prompted subsequent attempts at Warner’s to match its appeal, with films like Passage to Marseille, To Have and Have Not, Sirocco.
However, none was as successful–or entertaining.
